I am dedicated to finding a new job
Posted in DedicationI am dedicated to finding a new job.
I am seeking a high paying job within my specialty. However, I am open to the possibility of a temporary position outside of my specialty to pay the bills. For this reason, I am relaxed about my job requirements when applying to open positions.
I make an active effort to search for jobs that I would greatly enjoy. But, when the well of interesting opportunities seems to run dry, I continue my job search by applying to positions that are of less interest to me. Each day, I apply for at least five positions.
I utilize the internet to its fullest potential in my job-seeking efforts.
I am active on social networking websites, such as LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook and MySpace. I use these accounts to network with potential employers and find open positions that most job seekers miss out on.
I also make it a point to touch base with my industry contacts to seek job leads that may not be advertised to the public.
I am creating a website to display my resume, personal achievements, and a link to each of my social networking accounts. My website makes my resume readily available to potential employers.
Due to my persistence, I expect to be gainfully employed soon. I maintain a positive outlook, realizing that the job search is a numbers game. If I apply for enough positions, I know I can land a job. Therefore, I treat failure as a step forward in my job search.
Today, I keep my chin up and continue on my path to new employment. I am certain that it is only a matter of time until I find a new job that allows me to gain financial security.
Self-Reflection Questions:
1. What steps can I take, today, toward successfully landing a job?
2. How can I learn from my negative job search experiences?
3. Do I conduct each interview with a positive mindset?
